Leah Black is excited to be a part of the Instructional Empowerment Team as a Consultant. With more than 18 years in the field of education, she began her educational journey as a 6th-8th grade science teacher in Atlanta, GA. She was later promoted to various leadership roles, inside and outside of the school district including: Assistant Principal, Principal, and District Coordinator.

Her greatest passions are supporting Title I schools and leaders around Culture and Climate, Social and Emotional Learning, and Academics in Preschool to 12th Grade. It is her purpose to support the improvement of academic outcomes and reduce disproportionality for students of color and special education students. It is her belief that EVERY student can learn and be successful as long as they are engaged, have high expectations, are loved and have FUN in the process.

Leah holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and a Master’s Degree of Secondary Science Education from Georgia State University. She also holds an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Lincoln Memorial University.
