Debbie DePalma has served as a Teacher, Literacy Coach, Adjunct Professor, Curriculum Coordinator for Literacy and Integrated Content Areas, Regional Reading Coach, and Literacy Specialist for the NYS Reading Resource Center. She has presented widely to support current research and applied practice to enhance literacy instruction at the national, state, and local levels. Her work as a consultant for IE is focused on supporting multiple schools through conducting needs assessments, providing instructional coaching, staff development, and support in data analysis and curriculum mapping. Curriculum design and implementation are the center of her work for LSI, focused primarily on the elementary grades. Debbie was also a lead contributing writer of the Foundations Course offered through the curriculum practice area.

Debbie has been published in Experiential Learning & Teaching in Higher Education (2018), The Reading Teacher (2015) Impact on Instruction and Improvement, NYS ASCD (2013), and New York Higher Education Support Center for Systems Change (2010). She is a passionate educator who continually seeks to learn and grow through collaborative experiences with other professionals in the field. It is her goal to support teachers in applying the most effective strategies to teach literacy and cultivate a sense of joy and independence in their students as they grow as readers and writers.
